About the Mercedes-Benz E-Class

The Mercedes-Benz E-Class sedan has long set the standard for the segment. The refinement, comfort, and driving experience of the E-Class simply cannot be matched. The mountain of awards it has won has solidified its status as an icon, and Mercedes-Benz works tirelessly to bring out new features and technology to keep it ahead of the curve of the rest of the market. The 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder standard engine produces 255 horsepower, and there is an optional 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-6 engine that produces 362 horsepower. The interior is exceptionally comfortable, and to help balance the mix of performance and comfort is the DYNAMIC SELECT system, which allows you to adjust the driving character of the E-Class for whatever the situation demands.

What the Critics Say

To understand what we love about the Mercedes-Benz E-Class, look no further than its 2021 Car of the Year win. The midsize car manages to capture the high-tech ethos of future luxury with the wood-grain, stitched leather elegance of old-world opulence in a well-rounded package that eclipses all of its competitors.” — Motor Trend

You see exactly where the money has gone as soon as you walk up to the car. The paint and finish are excellent. Step inside and you’ll find one of the most handsome and well-crafted cabins around. Everything you look at or touch has a premium feel. Mercedes even nails little things like the click of a button or the feel of the air vent knobs.” — Edmunds

What’s New for 2022

The E-Class got a major refresh for 2021, so the changes for the 2022 model are minor. Automatic high-beam headlights are now standard across all trims, and Mercedes-Benz has added Nautical Blue Metallic to the list of available paint colors.

Mercedes-Benz E-Class Brakes

Dynamic Performance

With either the 255-horsepower 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-4 or the 362-horsepower turbocharged inline-6 engine, the E-Class offers athletic performance and agile handling. The 9G-TRONIC 9-speed automatic transmission comes with DYNAMIC SELECT, giving you a choice of different driving modes for different situations, as well as a custom setup and shift paddles to give you an even greater level of control. Available 4MATIC® all-wheel-drive handles any weather condition with ease, and the available AIR BODY CONTROL® suspension handles bumps and rough roads without disturbing occupants.

Mercedes-Benz E-Class Interior

Refined Interior

Inside you will find a cabin that blends together the advanced technology of the E-Class with the wood-and-leather aesthetics of traditional luxury. Set in the dash are dual digital displays. One contains a customizable set of gauges and other information for the driver, while the second 12.3-inch multimedia touchscreen works with the MBUX infotainment system that also includes a touchpad mounted on the center console. This blends perfectly with the premium materials of the dash, as well as the 64-color ambient cabin lights. The front seats are heated, and there is optional ventilation and massage functions. All while the optional Air Balance system provides ionization and aromatherapy.

Mercedes-Benz E-Class Instruments

Cutting Edge Technology

Mercedes-Benz was a pioneer of adaptive cruise control, and that technology joins a host of others to make the E-Class the segment tech leader. The MBUX infotainment system responds to input from the touchscreen, touchpad, steering wheel controls, or voice commands. Car‑to‑X Communication uses a centralized information source to monitor for road hazards, and warn you before you encounter them. Pair this with the easy-to-use MB Navigation system, and avoiding danger or delays becomes second nature for the E-Class. Rounding things off is an optional Burmester® audio system that manages to be noteworthy even among so much else that’s impressive about the E-Class.
